OPS Family Info Coffee Mornings

Alternate Friday’s (even weeks) from 9am in our staffroom

We know that many of you would like to know more about OPS and aspects of your children’s learning at OPS.

These fortnightly meetings will be really informal - ‘chatting with coffee and cookies’. Stay for all or just part of the meeting. Pre-schoolers welcome.

It’s a chance to find out about the topics for the meeting and suggest questions and topics for future meetings.

Next Meeting - Friday 7 June

Please note, this is not a time where we can discuss individual children with families. We are happy to make a time to do this, or direct you to the most appropriate staff member.

Pasifika Coffee Morning
Alternate Friday’s (odd weeks) from 9am in our staffroom

The meeting is really informal.

You are welcome to come in for a quick coffee and chat then go...or stay.

Meetings can last for about an hour.

You are welcome to bring your pre-schoolers, or family members.

Next meeting: Friday 31 May

We got our ideas together to let everyone know a bit more about this group and why you should come along.

  • Coffee and cookies!
  • Meet up with other parents - get to know each other
  • Talk casually
    Support our children
  • Find out more about what’s happening in the school

Have a laugh - helps with our stress

Comments from the group…

“I’ve found that since joining this group I can text one of the other parents to help out and look for my kids if I’m running late.”

“If you are involved with school, it makes your child happy, knowing my mum is at school. I have to behave myself!. They learn and behave well at school.”

“It makes them want to come to school because they see their parents support them. They are excited - My Mum is coming.”

“When children see their family involved in school, they work harder, they do well in school.“Even if your English is not good, come along. Someone will help you.”

Meet Yvonne

Yvonne came along to our Pasifika meeting. She didn’t know anyone when she came - she does now.

Her family have come back to NZ after living in Australia.

She came along because she saw the note in the newsletter and thought…

“I want to get involved and support, and know what’s going on at school.”

We were really thrilled to have a new member of our group

If you want to come along and join in the fun, we would love to see you.
