Exciting New Project: Activating Our School Field!

We are thrilled to share a vision for a new project designed to bring more play, movement, and fun to our school! Our goal is to install a series of interactive equipment and play activities around the perimeter of the school field - ensuring our organised sports fields remain untouched and ready for action.

This is a long-term "build-as-we-go" project that will grow over time as we raise funds.

A Note on the Visuals: The concept image provided is just an initial impression. We want our tamariki to be at the heart of this project, and we will be involving them to identify the exact activities they want to play and interact with!

How We’ll Fund and Build It

To bring this vision to life, we are looking at a mix of community spirit and fundraising:

• School Fundraising: We are launching this project using funds raised from this year’s ‘Learn-a-thon’ and the annual Onehunga Parents Social Club Fundraiser

• Community Effort: While some specialised equipment will need to be purchased, we hope to develop several aspects ourselves through community working bees.

• Future Grants: As the project progresses, we will also be seeking grant application support to help us reach the finish line.

How You Can Get Involved Right Now!

We need our amazing OPS community to help make this happen. Here are three ways you can support us today:

1. Talk to your children: Show them the concept image and ask what kinds of play features and activities they would love to see included.

2. Sponsor the Learn-a-thon: Support your child with their chosen Learn-a-thon goals and help them seek sponsorship from friends and family via our Go Fund Me page. coming soon

3. Become a Major Sponsor: We are actively seeking major sponsorships for prizes for both our Learn-a-thon and the Quiz Night. If you or your business can help, please contact Viki Holley.
