Teacher Union Meeting - Wednesday May 31, 2023

Kia ora OPS Whānau

This is a printed version of the email sent to all OPS whānau on Sunday 28/5.

On Saturday night principals and Boards of Trustees Presiding Members (Chair) were sent notification that there would be Paid union meetings for teachers on Wednesday 31/5, 2023

We acknowledge that this is very short notice. “The Secretary for Education has agreed not to enforce the normal 14-day notice period for paid union meetings being observed because of the benefit of providing the opportunity to discuss the offers.” (from email sent by the NZEI - Teachers Union)

Our teachers will be attending a meeting on the afternoon of Wednesday 31 May in the afternoon.

We ask that you make arrangements to collect your child from school at 12.30 pm on Wednesday May 31.

Children will be released at 12.30pm as we usually would at the end of the day.

If it is not possible to make arrangements for your child to leave at 12.30pm, school will remain open with a small number of staff to supervise children. Normal learning programmes will not be possible.

As a school we want to ensure that every child is accounted for on this afternoon and ask that you let us know if your children will need to remain at school.

Please let us know by either…
