Wednesday-Pie Fundraiser
Friends of the School (FOTS) helps our school in many ways, including raising money for major projects and to support learning within our different learning communities.
Earlier this year, our Board of Trustees approved a plan for smaller fundraisers (like Hot Cross Bun and Mini Fair sales) to directly support each learning community's trips and experiences that support and enhance their learning.
Our school participates in the Ministry of Education's "donation scheme," because of this we can't ask for school donations or payments for most trips (overnight camps are an exception).Ministry of Education Donations Scheme. Fundraising helps make these valuable experiences possible! We are about to bring back Wednesday Fundraising Lunches where FOTS makes money on each item sold on a Wednesday. - more details below.
Here's a look at some recent, and upcoming activities FOTS have funded or plan to fund this year:
Our Year 6 Learning Community attended National Young Leaders Day last week. Keep an eye out for more details in next week's newsletter!
The Year 5 Learning Community will have "Science In A Van" visiting next week.
FoTS has also got a Air NZ grant for mulch & plants and a trip for the Year 5s (look out for info about a weekend working bee to lay the mulch and plant the plants soon!).
Our Year ¾ Learning Community is planning a technology focused trp to MOTAT in Term 4
Our Year 0/1 Kiwi and Year 2 Kea Learning Communities are currently in the planning stage for their own exciting trips.
From next Wednesday (11 June) we will start a Wednesday Pie Lunch fundraiser.
Pies - Creamy Chicken, Steak & Cheese, Vegan Butter ‘Chick”n’ or Mince
Order at our office using Cash or eftpos at our office.
Order forms will be sent home today.
