Enrolment at Onehunga Primary School

All children who live within the home zone are entitled to attend Onehunga Primary School. Parents should apply early to assist the school to plan appropriately. Click here for zone details.

The address given at the time of the application for enrolment must be the child's usual place of residence when the school is open for instruction. This means that if you currently live at an in-zone address but move to an out-of-zone address before your child's first day of attendance, your child will not be entitled to enrol at the school.

Enrolment Application Process

We invite all families living within our school zone to submit an online Enrolment Application for any children preparing to start school.

How the Process Works:

1. Submit Your Application: Complete and submit our Online Enrolment Application.

2. Zone & Application Review: Our team will review your submitted application to verify that your address falls within our school zone and that all initial details are complete.

3. Acceptance & Next Steps: Once your application is accepted, we will email you the remaining enrolment forms to sign digitally. You will also receive instructions on how to upload your required supporting documents:

   • Proof of address x2

   • Birth certificate or passport

   • Current visa documentation (if applicable)

Submitting your application early helps us accurately plan future classes, arrange teaching staff, and ensure a smooth transition for your child.

Enrolment

Actual enrolment occurs when your child reports to our office on the day they start school. Children can not start until the day of their 5th birthday.
