2023

Beats by Bingo

A huge thank you to our BBB organising committee for another VERY successful event.

The smooth running of an event like this can only happen after hours of planning and preparation.

The committee are Brad Erceg, Scott Ebbett, Heather Hale, Josh Byers, Anji Rambhai, Cecille Brunt, Amy Wilson, Elysia Shanks, Seth and Rachael Bateman...many of this group are included in the picture here.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this event. It raised $13500 profit from BBB, this is $2K more than last year which is fantastic given the current financial climate. Money raised will go towards our ‘OPS Shed’ which is planned to be located on our field for sport equipment storage and outdoor equipment. This will benefit everyone at school.

Please support the sponsors of this event if you can.

Letting them know you are supporting them because of their support of OPS is a great way to encourage them to get involved again!

Supporting our School - Beats By Bingo

How Does This Support Our School?

The ‘Quiz Night’ or Beats By Bingo event has been organised and run by a group of OPS whānau for a number of years now. It's a fun night out, a great way to get to know other parents and staff AND it raises a significant amount of money for our school each year.

How Does The ‘Bingo’ Work?

Each individual gets a bingo card per round. You listen to the songs as they are played and cross it out on your bingo card if you have that song. First to cross out all the songs on their card wins that round!

Because it’s an individual game you can swap tables to mix and mingle through the night.  It’s a lot of fun!

In addition there will be games, prizes and live and silent auctions.

Dressing Up?

We realise that some people don’t do dressup which is fine. 'Dress up' is optional as the most important thing is we have as much as our school community there as possible. For those who are keen, there are prizes for best dressed up for grabs. We also have a complementary photo booth so you can have a fun momento of the night.

Great Prizes

We have had amazing support from local businesses contributing to the fundraiser. There are 5 rounds of Bingo with vouchers to local businesses, like Dress Smart up for grabs.

Silent Auction Bidding

As part of our Beats by Bingo fundraiser, we have a fabulous silent auction for our school community to participate in. We have an amazing lineup of items donated with something for everyone, from signed sporting memorabilia and family passes to Eden park, Auckland Zoo, Motat and MotoX through to designer handbags, revlon makeup and tech equipment. This year we're using Galabid so that you can bid in advance of the big night and so that those who aren't able to make it on Saturday can participate. Check out the link below:

https://app.galabid.com/ops23

It's easy to use, you just need to register with an email address or phone number and the site will keep you updated if you're outbid on an item. Bidding will close at 9pm on Saturday 4 Nov. Good Luck!

Awesome support from our OPS community

We wanted to grab two minutes of your time to shout out to three amazing local families, who year after year step up to support OPS' annual fundraiser.

First off, take a bow Liz Byers Property Page. Liz is one of our local mums and a stellar real estate agent. Together with her mum Digna, they make a dream team, bringing decades of property experience in Onehunga. If you've ever chatted to Liz at school or standing by a sports field, you'll know how warm, charismatic and energetic she is - imagine harnessing that vibe to sell your house! Liz is our major sponsor this year and we're so grateful for her support.

Just like Liz, year after year Corey from Refresh Renovations steps up to help out as a sponsor. Corey and Anji are much loved members of our OPS community. Every year they bring full commitment to winning best dressed for costumes, as well as helping out with sponsorship and organising the event. High energy, stylish with great attention to detail, and fun - what more could you want for your renovation project!

And last, but definitely not least, Johnny from Northern Lights Lighting & Electrical Ltd is a OPS dad and local legend. Johnny and his team have sponsored us every year from the beginning. You've probably walked past Northern Lights office on Onehunga Mall and noticed the smiling team inside. A fabulous bunch of humans and even better tradies! They can do everything from a total electrical fit out of your commercial or residential property through to installing new outside lights.
