OPS Friends of the School

We are a group of parents known as The Friends of the School, our meetings are a good place to meet other parents, to have some fun and to develop a sense of belonging and involvement within the school.  It is a good platform upon which to exchange ideas and news relating to our school and the community.  Our Principal (Viki Holley) also attends the meetings. We provide reports on activities and the school's focus and direction. We discuss fundraising ideas and occasionally canvas for volunteers to help in these efforts.

Fots activites have included: Friends of the School activities include an annual Quiz night, helping with the Mini Fairs, School Disco's, Sausage Sizzles and ICE BLOCK FRIDAYS in Terms 1 and 4. Funds are often used to help with transport costs for activities such as National Young Leaders, Zoo trips, Motat, Kelly Tarlton's etc. and senior school camp. In November 2018 we were able to install a new playground, we hope to add some more individual items.

How to become involved: We are planning an introductory information night in the last week of this term.  Please feel free to pop along. We always welcome new faces. There is no obligation to attend each month. Statistics show that when parents and caregivers get involved with their children's school, their children see school as being important. Joining Friends of the School can have positive spin-offs for your children too.  Our next meeting is next Monday 6 March 2023
